Before Sofia Vergara was delivering sassy one-liners on the hit ABC sitcom Modern Family, she was shilling $5 gym memberships for Bally Total Fitness! Fans recently unearthed the below video of the Colombian actress, now 38, talking about how she juggles motherhood and hotness. The answer? "I'm an actress, I'm a model and I'm a full-time mother. But I always look my best, because I make time to go to Bally Total Fitness." Well, that explains that. Watch Vergara do some serious '90s aerobics below!
Back in 1998, when this video was made, Vergara was gaining recognition in the United States as a swimsuit model. But she's actually been a famous face in her native Colombia since she was 17, when she starred in the Pepsi commercial below. (Notice how all her major milestones until Modern Family seemed to involve wearing a bikini?)
Last year, Vergara was nominated for an Emmy, a Golden Globe and three SAG Awards for her portrayal of saucy housewife Gloria on Family. Amazingly, she looks almost exactly the same now at 38 as she did in that Bally ad. To give you some perspective, Vergara's son Manolo, who appears in the fitness commercial as a little boy, turned 18 last year! That's some pretty great PR for Bally, if you ask us.
