Justin Bieber will premiere the video for his latest single, "U Smile," this week. The singer tweeted the release announcement and gave Beliebers some insight into the clip.

"In 3 days U SMILE video comes," he wrote early Monday (September 27). "And I took the opportunity 2 make a video 4 the fans, about a fan, and how we could fall IN LOVE. Love Grows. #LoveGrows."

Bieber continued to discuss love and the possibility of dating a fan, tweeting, "U know u wake up and you go online sometimes and see your words twisted or isolated from the whole meaning. It is frustrating.... ...you become guarded. Sometimes u don't know who to trust. U say one thing to someone and it comes out totally different.... ....that is why i like twitter. i can say it how it is. no one twisting things so people want to know where it is," he explained. "My fans and i we LOVE EACH OTHER. But to be IN LOVE with someone u need to get to know them personally I get asked all the time would I date a fan and my answer I would date whoever I fall IN LOVE with, and yes that could be a fan."

The singer is reportedly currently dating singer Jasmine Villegas, who's opening for him on his My World tour.

Earlier this month, Bieber was spotted shooting the video for "U Smile," which was directed by Alfredo Flores. In photos from the shoot posted on Idolator, Bieber is shown dressed all in black, trying to woo a teenage girl near a run-down movie theater. Back in March, he explained that the song was a great vintage-tinged track. "It really is a throwback to the great records I listened to growing up. ... I wrote it for all my fans who got me here," he wrote.

Bieber also spoke to MTV News in March about working on the track alongside songwriters Jerry Duplessis, Arden Altino and Dan August Rigo. "I worked with August. I got him. He's a really good writer," the singer said. "The song is amazing. We really love the song, so we decided to cut it. It's really amazing."

'Star Wars' Series To Be Re-Released In 3-D

George Lucas plans to roll out converted films one at a time, beginning with 'Phantom Menace' in 2012.
By Gil Kaufman

When the original "Star Wars" hit theaters in 1977, moviegoers were blown away by then-pioneering, eye-popping special effects that transported them to another fully formed universe. Now the mastermind of the series, director George Lucas, has a plan to refresh the movies on the 35th anniversary of their debut.

According to the Los Angeles Times movie blog Hero Complex, after observing the huge success of "Avatar" and "Alice in Wonderland," Lucas has decided to re-release the Jedi epic in 3-D. The current plan is to kick off the 3-D makeover in 2012 with the retrofitted first prequel in the space opera series, 1999's "Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace," and then follow with the five other movies, in numerical order, in consecutive years, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lucas' famed Industrial Light & Magic special-effects shop will oversee the 3-D conversion. Considering the flack some filmmakers have received for converting to 3-D after the fact to ill effect, Lucas promised in a press release that the greatest care will be taken not to tarnish the "Star Wars" legend.

"Getting good results on a stereo conversion is a matter of taking the time and getting it right," said ILM visual effects supervisor John Knoll. "It takes a critical and artistic eye along with an incredible attention to detail to be successful. It is not something that you can rush if you want to expect good results. For 'Star Wars' we will take our time, applying everything we know both aesthetically and technically to bring audiences a fantastic new 'Star Wars' experience."

The Times noted that Lucas, never a big proponent of 3-D, has said recently that the technological advances made in James Cameron's "Avatar" convinced him to take a second look at the process. Lucas told "Access Hollywood" earlier this year that he was considering a 3-D makeover for his beloved space saga.

"Haven't been a big fan of 3-D, but that movie definitely improves in [the field of] 3-D ... We've been looking for years and years and years of trying to take 'Star Wars' and put it in 3-D," Lucas said. "But [the] technology hasn't been there. We've been struggling with it, but I think this will be a new impetus to make that happen."

In addition to awaiting new, better 3-D technology, the director was also reportedly biding his time until there were more theaters equipped with 3-D screening capability in order to do the widest release possible of the retooled movies.

Given the criticism Lucas has received in the past for tinkering with the original trilogy by adding new effects and scenes, longtime fans should take heart that, according to Variety, Knoll said there are no plans to add or fix visual effects in the movies for the 3-D conversion.

Are you excited to see the "Star Wars" saga in 3-D?

Paris Hilton and Cy Waits Run Over Paparazzo's Leg

While everything seemed to be going marvelously well, things took a turn for the worse as Paris Hilton ended her night in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday (September 29).

After a day of shopping, the hotel heiress got prettied up before attending The Autumn Party presented by Arcade at the London Hotel.

From there, Miss Hilton joined boyfriend Cy Waits, as well as sister Nicky and her man, as the group made their way to the popular Boa Steakhouse.

While leaving Boa, the seemingly trouble-magnetizing former "Simple Life" star and her unemployed beau hopped in their car as Waits ended up clipping a female paparazzo's leg.

Calling for help, police and an ambulance arrived at the scene shortly thereafter to take the injured woman to a nearby hospital for minor treatment while Waits was questioned by officers tending to the incident.

Happening in the early hours of Thursday morning (September 30), there's still no word as to whether any charges will be filed in regards to the matter.

Justin Bieber Sings For Fans At Hooters In Canada

Singer makes a surprise appearance at a mall in Edmonton.

Justin Bieber is living the life. The 16-year-old superstar was spotted and photographed with a bevy of Hooters waitresses after he stopped by the restaurant's local outpost at the West Edmonton Mall in Canada on Saturday, the Edmonton Sun reports. He was in town for a stop on his My World tour.

Not only did Bieber and his entourage, including four of his backup dancers, stop by for a quick visit, he also serenaded everyone at the restaurant. One of the servers at the restaurant, Tania Biggar, explained, "We were talking about deep-fried pickles. Then they said they would sing to me for free deep-fried pickles. The manager said if they sang for the whole restaurant, he'd pay for their entire meal. They serenaded the girls. They were actually super-polite. They were just awesome people to serve. They weren't demanding or anything like that."

The impromptu performance had fans in a frenzy. "Everybody that was sitting around them went over to talk to them. They told them they did an awesome job of singing," she said.

Biggar further explained that while the Hooters girls did get a photo with Bieber, they didn't get much one-on-one time with him. "None of the [servers] really got to talk to him. He was surrounded by his fans," she said. "That's how we knew he was coming in — it was all 14-year-old girls. And they all kind of move as one."

YouTube footage of the Hooters visit shows Bieber, dressed in a black jacket and black hat, walking through crowds of people. Despite all the fans trying to catch a glimpse of the star, it seems things remained relatively more low-key than past Bieber mall appearances.

The restaurant's manager, Sonny Verma, confirmed the blink-and-you'll-miss-him appearance of the "U Smile" singer to the Edmonton Journal. "We probably had a row six people deep and 10 people long at the window. It was pretty cool," he said. "I was told about 10, 15 minutes he came in here. It was really quick. He came in, took a quick picture and took off."

2010 VMAs: Relive The Blink-And-You-Missed-'Em Moments!

From Rihanna's coy reaction to Drake's 'Fancy' set to Katy Perry's toast, we revisit our favorite split-second moments.
By Jim Cantiello

From Kanye West's bright red suit to Lady Gaga's plumed Mohawk, the 2010 Video Music Awards gave viewers plenty to look at. But there were also plenty of blink-and-you-missed-it moments worth revisiting. Here are some of our faves.

Jane Lynch's Surprise!
The VMA stage was especially massive this year, with platforms extending and wrapping around the orchestra section of the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live. So you can't really blame "Glee" 's Jane Lynch for not noticing Rihanna's surprise entrance happening directly behind her. By the time Lynch realized where Ri's voice was coming from, she delivered a reaction shot that screamed over-the-top shock and unbridled joy. Who knew Sue Sylvester was such a die-hard Rihanna fan?!

Rihanna Flips Her Hair at Drake!
Speaking of Rihanna, the Bajan beauty had a playful response to Drake's VMA debut: a sassy "well, isn't he fancy?" hair flip.

Chelsea <3s Justin
You might have noticed a "Chelsea Loves Justin" sign in the audience for Justin Bieber's outdoor performance. But did you see who was holding the sign and screeching her face off? Yep, that was VMA host Chelsea Handler, who had ditched the Nokia Theatre to catch Bieber doing his thing out front. That explains why Bieber was skeeved out by an audience member at the end of his performance. It was an intentional comedy bit. (For his unintentional comedy bit, see: dramatic sunglasses removal.)

Jared Leto Snubs Microphone Girl
On his way up to the podium to accept the Best Rock Video Moonman, 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto accidentally took a microphone from Johnny Knoxville, leaving a girl whose job it was to hand off a mic to the winner positively miffed. "Well that was retarded," she said into an open mic. Oof.

Katy Perry Wants a Refill
Kanye West closed the show with his new song, "Runaway," which asked the audience to "have a toast for the douche bags." Apparently Katy obliged, since immediately after the performance you could see her raising her empty glass and shaking it as if to say, "I need a refill, garçon!"

The Moonmen have all been handed out and the stars have gone home, but there's plenty of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards news, interviews, behind-the-scenes scoop, party reports and more still to come, so keep it locked on MTVNews.com.

Lil Wayne Posts Birthday Blog

Rapper, who turns 28, titled the post 'This Blessed Day of Mine.'
By Jayson Rodriguez

Lil Wayne is a year older and almost a month away from being released from jail, so in honor of the moment, the rapper wrote his latest blog post, titled "This Blessed Day of Mine."

In the birthday post, his seventh post since he began his prison term, Wayne updated his fans on his day-to-day activities and low expectations about his appearance. Wayne joked that all the athletic activity he's been doing won't result in a larger physical frame for him. "Still doing pushups and such. By the way, please don't expect me to come out looking any different," Wayne wrote in the post, which featured a picture of a birthday cake with his name on it. "I'm the same little 'ol me."

The Cash Money Records superstar said his days consist mostly of watching ESPN and listening to local New York radio stations. He shouted out WBLS jocks Keith Stewart and Dr. Bob Lee as well as Kiss FM's Lenny Green.

According to Weezy, his radio jones is a result of Eric Benet's latest, "Sometimes I Cry," of which he wrote, "It's the best song I've heard since Maxwell's 'Woman's [Work].' It's for grown folk. I actually listen to the radio all day waiting for that song."

Toward the end of the note, Wayne thanked his Cash Money/ Young Money crew and took a second to poke fun at his protégés Drake and Nicki Minaj over their ill-fated Twitter union.

"Uhh Nik, I am jealous of you and Drizzy, but it's cool," he wrote. "Ha ha. I miss you all and keep killin' 'em. I love y'all."

On Monday, Wayne's actual birthday, he phoned in to MTV's new show "The Seven" and spoke with Drake live on air.

Justin Bieber Joined By Miley Cyrus, Usher At New York Show

Footage for his upcoming 3-D movie was shot at Madison Square Garden concert.

Right up until Justin Bieber took the stage at New York's Madison Square Garden, it was an almost typical stop on the My World Tour, complete with hype man and opening sets from Jessica Jarrell and Sean Kingston, who stepped up his game and brought out Iyaz.

But once Bieber, who was using his New York stop to film the concert footage for his 3-D movie, hit the stage, it was on, and the crowd's screams reached a deafening pitch. Dressed in his white and purple tour regalia, he kicked off the show with "Love Me," complete with karate-friendly dance moves. Any signs that Bieber had fallen ill only two days before weren't remotely evident. He turned his swag on for "Bigger" and for the cameras filming the show for his upcoming film.

"What's up, New York City? Welcome to my world. We are gonna have a lot of fun tonight. I got a lot of surprises in store for you guys!" he told the crowd before going straight into the fan favorite "U Smile," the next single he's expected to release. The catch: He was joined by Boyz II Men for the Motown-flavored track. "Boyz II Men sing it," he told the legendary R&B act before exchanging high fives. "These people are the ones who made me want to start singing." And then the group performed their tune "On Bended Knee," which they dedicated to Bieber's mom.

Bieber reclaimed the show with his song "Runaway Love," with no Kanye West or Raekwon in sight. "New York City, are you ready to have some fun? I'm filming good. We're shooting the movie," he told the crowd before getting into his heart cage and flying over the audience for "Never Let You Go" and "Favorite Girl," all while playing the guitar.

"You know, I guess I was right. There are a lot of people in here!" he proclaimed before bringing a girl onto the stage for "One Less Lonely Girl."

Bieber was then ready to bring out the big guns. Usher would be the next special guest of the night, setting the party off during Bieber's rendition of "Somebody to Love," giving the pop sensation a big hug before leaving the stage.

But Usher was only the first of the super superstars. Teen queen and 3-D movie vet Miley Cyrus then joined Bieber onstage as he slowed things down a bit for "Overboard." "I got to tell you something," Bieber said. "My motto to live by, there's gonna be times in your life when people tell you you can't do something. This is what I tell 'em: 'Never Say Never.' " And as rumored, Jaden Smith took the stage to rap his heart out to one very excited crowd during the track.

Left alone again, during "Up" Bieber flew over the stage in a cage and every girl went nuts. And after the crowd was reminded to make some noise, Bieber showed his fans how much he loves them by singing "One Time" followed by "That Should Be Me."

"It's gonna get crazy in here! You ready to get crazy?" he asked the crowd, which pretty much had been getting crazy all night. Then Sean Kingston hit the stage with Biebs for their collabo, "Eenie Meenie."

Soon the crowd was instructed to light up the room by waving their cell phones while Bieber sang "Down to Earth," during which he played a white baby-grand piano. Blowing kisses to the crowd, he departed the stage before his encore.

"I heard you screaming, so I thought I'd come back out here. I want to thank everyone. Madison Square Garden is a big deal for me ... and I'm really blessed," he said. "So I want to say thank you! Anyways, let's do another song!"

He closed out the night with his megahit "Baby" and was joined by Ludacris and lots of fireworks. The MSG show proved that when Bieber asks you to show up for his massively fun 3-D movie taping, you show up.

Lady Gaga Mourns Loss Of Her Grandfather

Joseph Germanotta, to whom the singer dedicated a song at a concert earlier this year, passed away on Friday.
By James Dinh

Lady Gaga's grandfather, Joseph Germanotta, died on Friday at the age of 88. Germanotta reportedly suffered a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

On Sunday, Gaga remembered her late grandfather via Twitter, writing, "Having a Perfect Manhattan, for my perfect guy. Love you Giuseppe." ("Giuseppe" is the Italian name for Joseph.)

According to an obituary at NJ.com, Germanotta was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, before relocating to other cities in the Garden State including Elizabeth and Montville. He was a World War II veteran and also worked as a self-employed businessman. Gaga was reportedly spotted just two days prior to his death visiting him at a nursing home in New Jersey.

Instead of flowers, the Germanotta family is accepting donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research as well as the St. Pius X Church in Montville.

In May, Lady Gaga opened up to fans about her then sick grandfather during her Monster Ball Tour show in Nottingham, England. "I don't always talk about my personal life but my grandpa's sick," she revealed. "And I'm really close with my grandpa and he's really sick and he's in the States and my dad's with him. So I was, like, crying all day, really sad. So I thought I might just be honest and tell you that's what's going on."

But in true Gaga fashion, the singer put her emotions into her music by dedicating her ballad "Speechless" to Germanotta. "So it's been one of those tough things that my grandpa's too old to come to my show, but I suppose if we sing loud enough, he'll be able to hear us. So this one's for you Grandpa," she said after breaking down in tears.

Express your words of sympathy for Lady Gaga and her family in the comments.

Gucci Mane Leads Us Through The Appeal

MC talks about just-released album, which features Nicki Minaj, Swizz Beatz and others.
By Shaheem Reid

Gucci Mane
Photo: Sam Hendrick/ MTV News

Gucci Mane fought the law and the law won, he admits on The Appeal: Georgia's Most Wanted, which dropped Tuesday (September 27). But that doesn't mean one of the most street-loved MCs in the game can't bounce back with a diamond-encrusted smile.

The album, his second in less than a year, starts with a surprisingly menacing track courtesy of Rodney Jerkins, who's had undeniable success providing tracks for the likes of Brandy, Ray J, Destiny's Child and, of course, Michael Jackson. Jerkins brings alarming horns fit for any gangster-flick soundtrack.

"Could have been a doctor, should have been a lawyer," Gucci raps on the chorus. "Go to court so much, I could have been my own employer/ I'm a dope boy, always been a hustler."

"That's me featuring Bun B," Gucci said of the song. "That's the intro for my album. It's raw, it's 'hood, but it's different. Of course me and Bun B, it's underground, but it still has a lot of pizzazz to it."

The Neptunes give Gucci a club bounce on "Haterade," a record about evolution and reflection. "Don't you feel stupid, look how I did it," Nicki Minaj raps on the track. "Look how it came to pass/ When I said it/ We can do debit/ I don't need no credit/ Yes, I'm epic, look how I rep it/ It's been eight years/ But I broke the record/ Yep the record, yep the record, yep the record (just for the record)/ I'm all that I can be/ And I'll admit I'm appalled when you envy."

"I feel that's a summertime record," Gucci said in August on the L.A. set of his video for "Gucci Time." "It's a great record, different record. It's me and Nicki, our first time together talking in depth on personal things. It's a different approach than people thought we would have."

On "Grown Man," Mr. LaFlare enlisted guest singer Estelle to express his newfound growth and mental freedom. "That's a special song on the album," Gucci said. "It talks about the transition from getting out of jail, then making mistakes in your life, sharpening your focus, taking responsibility for what happened in your life."

The album's lead cut is "Gucci Time," which was produced by and features Swizz Beatz, who also does double duty on "It's Alive."

"Me and Swizz recorded five or six songs," Mane said. "It was a pleasure recording with him. Out of the six songs we did, all of 'em could have been hit records. But this definitely feels like the song to go with right now, so we pushed forward."

Will you pick up The Appeal? Let us know in the comments!

Gloria Stuart, whose role as a Titanic survivor in James Cameron's film earned her an Oscar nomination, has died at the age of 100, according to multiple reports.

Stuart was diagnosed with lung cancer five years ago and died Sunday night at her home in West Los Angeles.

Her career in Hollywood began in the 1930s, when she was under contract with Universal and 20th Century Fox and starred in films like "The Invisible Man" with Claude Rains, "Here Comes the Navy" opposite James Cagney and two Shirley Temple films. She appeared in 42 features before 1939, when her studio contract was not renewed. She struggled to find work and retired from film in 1946.

Cameron resurrected Stuart's career in 1997, when he cast her as Rose Calvert, the older version of Kate Winslet's character in "Titanic." As a centenarian survivor of the cruise-ship disaster, Rose had hidden away a priceless blue diamond necklace that treasure hunters had been seeking. Toward the film's climax, she dramatically tossed the necklace into the same waters in which her street artist-turned-lover Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) had perished during the 1912 ship sinking.

The then-87-year-old Stuart nabbed a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nod for the role, becoming the oldest actress ever to receive an Academy Award nomination. Though "Titanic" won 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Directing, Stuart lost her category to Kim Basinger for her turn in "L.A. Confidential."

Stuart was born on July 4, 1910, in Santa Monica, California. She is survived by her daughter, four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. "When I graduated from Santa Monica High in 1927, I was voted the girl most likely to succeed," she wrote in her 1999 memoir, according to The Washington Post. "I didn't realize it would take so long."

Usher Remembers Being A 'Pizza Face' On 'When I Was 17'

'I had really, really bad acne ' he admits in Saturday's episode.
By Mawuse Ziegbe

He's known as one of the smoothest R&B sensations to grace the stage, but when Usher was 17, he grappled with a far less flattering image.

"I went through this phase where I had really, really bad acne," the singer admits on the latest episode of "When I Was 17," premiering Saturday at 11 a.m. Usher, who was 17 in 1995, reveals with a grin that his nickname was "Pizza Face."

"His acne was so horrible," recalled one of Usher's more blunt friends, Keith. "His face was so jacked up."

Music mogul and producer Jermaine Dupri remembered how the entertainer's spotty complexion led him to shy away from the spotlight.

"He didn't want to go out. He wanted to stay in," Dupri says. "He was a little ashamed of what was going on with his face."

The singer went to extreme, and ultimately unsuccessful, lengths to disguise his breakouts.

"As a dude, you're not gonna put makeup on your face, right?" Usher said. "I tried that, it didn't even work."

He may have experimented with cosmetics and spent a few more nights at home but the multiplatinum star didn't let his acne hold him back from wooing the ladies. "I was 17, so I would still try to talk to girls [and] get past it," Usher reasoned.

He even had some smooth lines to drop when he wanted to draw attention away from his skin. " 'Don't look at that, look at my eyes, baby. I'm trying to say something real serious to you right here,' " Usher recalled, reenacting his complexion-deflecting dating moves. "I know I have pizza face, I don't care."

In the end, his skin cleared up and the singer said it was just a matter of riding out a rite passage that many teens are forced to endure.

"This is something that all 17-year-olds have to deal with," Usher said. "You can't run away from it."

— this week featuring B.o.B, Usher and Ne-Yo — premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV

Lady Gaga's Rally To Feature Testimonial From Discharged Marine

'I got the chance to meet her in D.C., and she genuinely cared about the issue,' former Marine Danny Hernandez says of Gaga.
By Kyle Anderson

Since she first broke into the mainstream two years ago, Lady Gaga has used her fame to bring gay rights issues to the forefront. In the past few weeks, she has focused squarely on the repeal of the U.S. military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, including bringing several casualties of the law to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles and recording a video that encourages her fans to contact their senators to oppose the policy. On Monday (September 20), Gaga will host a rally in Portland, Maine, organized by the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN), in an effort to get the two senators from the state — Republicans Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins — to vote to break a filibuster and repeal the DADT policy in Tuesday's procedural vote in Washington, D.C.

Those gathered at the rally will also hear testimonial from Danny Hernandez, a former Marine who was discharged from the military for "don't ask, don't tell" violations. "I was in the Marine Corps and was under investigation for violating 'don't ask, don't tell,' and I ended up working with SLDN in Washington," Hernandez explained to MTV News in a Skype interview from Portland. "They represented me, and it was through them I began working for them and getting involved with Lady Gaga."

Hernandez first got the opportunity to meet the singer a few weeks ago after a concert in Washington. "I was a little skeptical at first," Hernandez said of Gaga's involvement with the cause. "I love her music but wouldn't consider myself a Little Monster. I got the chance to meet her in D.C., and she genuinely cared about the issue. It was then I realized that she's serious about this issue and getting the word out."

Though Hernandez was a victim of a "don't ask, don't tell" discharge — one among 14,000 similar cases — he hasn't let that get in the way of his dream of service. "I've been wanting to serve in the military for as long as I can remember," he said. "My brother, my cousins — everybody is in the Marine Corps. It's a family thing. To have been discharged was one of the worst things to ever happen to me, but that's why I'm a part of this cause. And it's meaningful to the people around me as well as the people still serving in silence. But I'd like to get back into the military as soon as possible."

The procedural vote — which would merely clear the bill (which has already been approved by the House of Representatives) for discussion on the Senate floor — is scheduled to occur on Tuesday afternoon.

What do you think of Lady Gaga's involvement with trying to repeal "don't ask, don't tell"? Let us know in the comments.

'Wall Street 2': The Reviews Are In!

Critics are divided, but one praises Oliver Stone sequel as 'urgent and strangely necessary.'
By Eric Ditzian

Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps"
Photo: 20th Century Fox

Twenty-three years ago, Oliver Stone's "Wall Street" finished third at the weekend box office, losing out to "Throw Momma From the Train" and "Three Men and a Baby."

Times, and tastes, have changed. Stone's sequel, "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," is likely to nab this weekend's top box office slot. No matter that critics have not exactly been kind to the film since its Cannes opening in May, after which Stone was said to have headed back into the edit room in search of a new cut. What he found there should be enough to dispatch the animated owls of "Legend of the Guardians" and secure Stone his first #1 opener since 1999's "Any Given Sunday."

Here's what the critics are saying:

The Story "Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas, sly and purry as ever) walks away from jail in the movie's 2001 opening scene, brick-like cellphone in hand. Seven years pass and he's back on top, with a new book ('Is Greed Good?') and untold millions. But the money can't buy what he wants: a relationship with his estranged daughter Winnie (Carey Mulligan). She lives with her boyfriend Jake (Shia LaBeouf), an up-and-coming young trader who hears Gekko speak and is enamored by his message. Drawn into Gekko's orbit — the older man hopes to use the younger as a conduit to Winnie — Jake gets caught up in the world of deal making, not necessarily to his benefit." — Moira Macdonald, The Seattle Times

The Performances "Douglas is terrific, and he's joined by fellow heavyweights Josh Brolin, Eli Wallach and Frank Langella as rival financial titans. But the movie belongs to LaBeouf. Stone loves to show us the convoluted world through the lens of a young striver still clinging to antiquated ideals. LaBeouf's shark-in-training manages to keep all of the balls in the air with a winning performance that balances moral wranglings with love and ambition." — Clint O'Connor, The Cleveland Plain Dealer

The Director "Using an ingeniously layered visual design, split screens and sinuous mobile cameras that move through scenes like the human sharks who inhabit them, Stone here proves that he's still a director of bold muscularity. If some of his references hit too squarely on the nose — the shot of a child's soap bubble standing in for the metaphoric financial version, for example, or the vaguely fascist corporate insignia of a malign CEO played by Josh Brolin — Stone has a knack for pacing, detail and atmosphere that manages to feel authentic and fancifully allegorical at the same time." — Ann Hornaday, The Washington Post

The Dissenters "This time around, the team does show occasional flourishes of the original's snap and urgency. However, it's nearly impossible to stay invested in a narrative stuffed with pliable characters whose actions fail to stay true to their natures. That's particularly glaring in a climax that ties everything up with a hunky-doryness that should have been liquidated faster than a risky hedge fund." — Randy Myers, San Jose Mercury News

The Final Word "The movie's punch-drunk energy can't quite make up for what, without giving away any plot points, I can only describe as a third-act lapse into maudlin sentimentality. By the film's last frame, Gordon Gekko has gone from evil to sympathetic to ambiguous so many times that we no longer trust any twist involving him. But thanks in no small part to Michael Douglas' evident joy in playing the role, Gekko has now become one of those characters, like 'The Big Lebowski' 's Dude, who no longer needs a movie to sustain him. Oliver Stone's account of the events of 2008 is as unsubtle in its charms as Gordon Gekko himself. But like Gekko, the film also feels urgent and strangely necessary." — Dana Stevens, Slate

Justin Bieber Is 'Funny,' 'Outgoing,' Rumored Girlfriend Says

'He's not fake at all,' Jasmine Villegas, the girl Bieber was caught kissing, says.
By Jocelyn Vena

While it has yet to be confirmed whether Justin Bieber and his "Baby" co-star and current My World tour opener Jasmine Villegas are dating, she opened up about the pop star in a new interview. She never mentioned their current romantic status, but she did note that Bieber is as real as it gets.

"Well, let's see, [what's] something that I would know about Justin ... He's just an outgoing person. He's funny," she told Bop and Tiger Beat in an interview posted online. "He's just so random, but I think everybody would know that.

"There's not much that I would know that people don't know because Justin is just 100 percent [real] with his fans and his friends and he gives everybody his full personality," she dished. "So that's a really good thing about him. He's not fake at all. He's just like, 'I'm Justin. Here's me.' "

Rumors of a romance between Villegas and Bieber were fueled when the two were recently caught kissing in the backseat of a car. Both have denied that anything is going on, with Bieber insisting he's single.

"I mean, girlfriends are trouble at this age," he said. "Girls are fun to hang out with but, like, having that one steady girl ... we're constantly traveling and one girl's not gonna really [work]. You can't really have one girl. I don't really have any crushes at the moment. ... Right now, the best thing is [that we're] just teenagers having fun doing what we love. We're just staying ourselves and remaining humble."

Taylor Swift May Replace Lindsay Lohan In 'One Night With You'

Lohan is reportedly being dropped from the film due to her ongoing legal struggles.

Taylor Swift is reportedly being considered to replace Lindsay Lohan in one of her upcoming movies, the romantic comedy "One Night With You."

Swift, who has appeared in movies like "Hannah Montana: The Movie," "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience" and "Valentine's Day," could take over the female lead in the flick about a starlet who joins a reality dating show in an attempt to save her career. But, as in most romantic comedies, things don't go as planned when instead she falls for a bartender who happens to hate all things Hollywood. A love/hate relationship ensues between the two.

"It appears the romantic comedy may finally be off the table for Lindsay Lohan. The producers had actually talked to Taylor Swift's agent a few months back about replacing Lindsay, but Taylor was in the middle of her tour," a source said, according to WENN. "Now that Lindsay can't conquer her troubles, they're taking the offer back to Taylor."

Swift's film rep had not responded to MTV News by press time about the report. But Swift stated earlier this year that her focus was on her music, not making movies. Her new album, Speak Now, is due out in October.

"I'm not making movies right now. I'm making music. That's always been my number-one love," Swift said back in June. "It's been so cool to be able to be a part of things that have been really fun, like being in 'Valentine's Day' and getting to guest-star in 'CSI.' I feel like I get to do these little mini-movies when I make music videos, so that kind of fulfills that little need or desire. But if I ever get time, I might like to [act again]."

Regardless of her current status on "One Night With You," Swift was recently seen sporting a basketball uniform, which she reportedly wore for a part in "Todd vs. High School," co-starring Jason Segal.

Lohan, meanwhile, is still onboard to star in the Linda Lovelace biopic "Inferno," despite repeated delays in filming caused by the actress' ongoing legal troubles.

Michael Lohan Holds Press Conference After Lindsay's Taken to Jail

Michael Lohan Holds Press Conference After Lindsay's Taken to Jail

Never one to keep quiet during a Lohan family crisis, Michael Lohan, the father of the ever-so-troubled Lindsay Lohan held a press conference after his daughter's latest jail sentence.

As reported earlier the 24-year-old Machete star has been taken into custody without bail. Judge Elden Fox ordered her to go back to jail until Oct. 22 for violating her probation by failing her drug tests. (On Saturday, Lindsay tweeted, "Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.")

"Lindsay should have never ever had to face jail time, she should’ve been in rehab the whole time," Michael told reporters just moments after the ruling. The spotlight-happy pop also said he'd rather be the one "eating a balogna sandwich" in jail rather than his daughter.

According to E! earlier Friday morning Mr. Lohan, 50, (who, in spite of having a strained relationship with her, could be seen saying "I love you" to his daughter before she entered the courthouse) said this "is a wake-up call" for her. He also said he wants Lindsay to get back "on the right path."

He also said that Lindsay is not to be blamed for her actions (he argued the actress "doesn't know better"). Rather, he thinks his ex-wife Dina Lohan (who, ironically enough, has also said others are to blame for her daughter's struggles) and LiLo's attorney Shawn Chapman Holley are at fault.

"I feel Shawn and the people around Lindsay are responsible. They are destroying my daughter, and I am praying Dina finally gets on the same page as me," he said.

Lohan also thinks Lindsay partying unsupervised at New York Fashion Week was partially to blame for the predicament she's in now. How about owning up to Lindsay getting herself into this predicament, Mama and Papa Lohan? Just a thought.

What do you think about Michael Lohan's statements regarding Lindsay? Chime in below!
