A lot of crazy things can happen during MTV awards shows. Pop stars show up wearing dresses made out of meat, rappers interrupt innocent country singers and costars grope each other to prove they're just friends. So, really, Hayden Panettiere shouldn't have been that shocked when a man ran out on stage during the MTV Europe Music Awards stark naked while she was presenting the award for best song.
But the actress certainly looked shocked, as Irish actor David Monahan bounded out from backstage with his goods on display. "Oh my god!" she managed to get out. Not seeming to know what to do, she hesitantly put the microphone in front of his mouth while he held his hands over his nether regions.
Monahan told Panettiere that he's a big fan of her work on Heroes. "Thank you," she said in response. "You should come grab a pint with us after."
Of course, Panettiere, 22, should respect the fact that Monahan wanted to show off his assets. After all, she dished that she didn't mind showing hers in I Love You, Beth Cooper: "If I can't flaunt it at 20, come on! I mean I might as well show it now," she said.
She probably just didn't appreciate the fact he messed up her chance to present an award to Lady Gaga!
