When nude photos of Scarlett Johansson hit the Internet in September, the 26-year-old star of The Avengers didn't take the usual celebrity route that consists of a) denial and b) going after the websites that posted them. Instead, she admitted the photos were hers, and began working with the FBI to catch the hacker who stole them (he's since been arrested -- go, ScarJo!). Now, Johansson tells Vanity Fair that she's not the least bit ashamed of taking or sending the photos -- and reveals that they were meant for ex-husband Ryan Reynolds!
"I know my best angles," she jokes. "They were sent to my husband. There's nothing wrong with that." We have to say, she makes a strong case -- but she's not quite done.
"It's not like I was shooting a porno," she quips, then adds, "Although there's nothing wrong with that either."
As she does in Vanity Fair, at the time that the photos hit the Web, Johansson defended her right to privacy.
"Just because you're an actor or make films or whatever doesn't mean you're not entitled to your own personal privacy," Johansson said after the hacking. "If that is sieged in some way, it feels unjust. It feels wrong."
She and Reynolds, 35, have since divorced, and Johansson tells VF that she was emotionally and physically exhausted in the aftermath of their split and her Tony win for A View from the Bridge.
"I didn't really know what to do with myself. It was such a strange time," she says. "There was nothing that was interesting to me. I had a very public separation. It was difficult. I felt very uncomfortable."
