From Kanye West's bright red suit to Lady Gaga's plumed Mohawk, the 2010 Video Music Awards gave viewers plenty to look at. But there were also plenty of blink-and-you-missed-it moments worth revisiting. Here are some of our faves.

Jane Lynch's Surprise!
The VMA stage was especially massive this year, with platforms extending and wrapping around the orchestra section of the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live. So you can't really blame "Glee" 's Jane Lynch for not noticing Rihanna's surprise entrance happening directly behind her. By the time Lynch realized where Ri's voice was coming from, she delivered a reaction shot that screamed over-the-top shock and unbridled joy. Who knew Sue Sylvester was such a die-hard Rihanna fan?!

Rihanna Flips Her Hair at Drake!
Speaking of Rihanna, the Bajan beauty had a playful response to Drake's VMA debut: a sassy "well, isn't he fancy?" hair flip.

Chelsea <3s Justin
You might have noticed a "Chelsea Loves Justin" sign in the audience for Justin Bieber's outdoor performance. But did you see who was holding the sign and screeching her face off? Yep, that was VMA host Chelsea Handler, who had ditched the Nokia Theatre to catch Bieber doing his thing out front. That explains why Bieber was skeeved out by an audience member at the end of his performance. It was an intentional comedy bit. (For his unintentional comedy bit, see: dramatic sunglasses removal.)

Jared Leto Snubs Microphone Girl
On his way up to the podium to accept the Best Rock Video Moonman, 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto accidentally took a microphone from Johnny Knoxville, leaving a girl whose job it was to hand off a mic to the winner positively miffed. "Well that was retarded," she said into an open mic. Oof.

Katy Perry Wants a Refill
Kanye West closed the show with his new song, "Runaway," which asked the audience to "have a toast for the douche bags." Apparently Katy obliged, since immediately after the performance you could see her raising her empty glass and shaking it as if to say, "I need a refill, garçon!"

The Moonmen have all been handed out and the stars have gone home, but there's plenty of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards news, interviews, behind-the-scenes scoop, party reports and more still to come, so keep it locked on MTVNews.com.
