Prince Harry Coming to U.S. for 2 Months

Prince Harry Coming to U.S. for 2 Months

Royal fever is burning up America, and it won't relent anytime soon in light of this news: Prince Harry is about to follow in the footsteps of newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton by paying a visit to California -- but, as Harry's spokesperson has confirmed, Harry's stay will last a full two months!

It's not a pleasure jaunt, however. Harry, known as the "spare heir," will be spending time in California and Arizona to take Apache helicopter training courses at an undisclosed location. Once he completes the courses, he will be an Apache helicopter pilot and may re-deploy to Afghanistan.

Apache helicopters are giant 40-million pound machines used to destroy tanks. Once Harry is officially a pilot, he may fly them in operations against insurgents in Afghanistan as early as summer 2012.

"Harry is an Army pilot and will deploy wherever the Army chooses to send him," a spokesman for the prince said in a statement. "His course finishes in 2012 and after that his deployment will be a matter for the Army chain of command."

Prince Harry was already on the front lines of the war in Afghanistan in 2008, but was pulled out of service when the tabloid press compromised his location. Harry, however, has always said he wanted to go back and that his "heart was in the Army."

Harry is now the most eligible royal bachelor on the planet, with gossip about his rumored romances always in the press. There was even speculation that love was blossoming between Harry and his new sister-in-law Pippa Middleton -- although Harry was quick to dispel those rumors.

For now, he remains single, and ready to face the challenges ahead of him in his upcoming Apache helicopter course.

We admire Prince Harry's "real determination, and wish him the best of luck.
