First Madonna admitted the difficulties of solo motherhood, and now January Jones has joined the ranks of single mothers brave enough to confess how hard it can be to parent alone.
In order to start working on Mad Men, which is returning to primetime after a 17-month hiatus, Jones had virtually no time at home with baby Xander.
"I was back when the baby was only 6 or 7 weeks old, so it was difficult," the 34-year-old actress told Us Weekly at the season 5 premiere on Wednesday. "It was difficult to be a working mom and just juggling all of that. But everyone made it work and it was great."
Luckily for Jones, who has yet to reveal the identity of Xander's father, her employers made the transition back to work as smooth as possible for the new mom.
"They made it baby-friendly for me, because I'm the first female on set to have a baby so I got to bring him," she said. "He had his own room and I was able to work around it because I was nursing."
As for life off the set, Jones is delighting in each of her 7-month-old's milestones.
"He is eating solids and he is just jabbering away. He's becoming more of a little person. He is quite a charmer!" she explained of his milestones. "I love to make him laugh. He thinks I'm funny and that's always a nice feeling."
