Michael Jackson's Son Prince May Testify Against Conrad Murray

Michael Jackson's Son Prince May Testify Against Conrad Murray

Michael Jackson's eldest son Prince Michael may have to testify in the Conrad Murray trial, which starts today.

According to TMZ, the 14-year-old does not want the prosecution to call on him, but he understands he was an eyewitness to what happened in his father's bedroom the day of his death. Murray, Jackson's personal physician, is accused of causing the musical icon's death by administering an excessive amount of Propofol, a clinical sedative commonly used as preparation for anesthesia.

Prince is apparently "nervous" and worried that if he's called to the stand he might get flustered and "mess up," sources close to Prince tell TMZ.

If prosecutors do call on Prince, his legal guardian Katherine Jackson will ask her lawyers to request that the judge clear the courtroom during her grandson's testimony. But while Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor is certain to prohibit any cameras in the courtroom, it is unlikely he'd vacate the entire room for Prince.

The Jackson family has known Prince could be called to testify because his name was on the prosecution's witness list. Murray reportedly called Prince to the bedroom to help with his father's emergency, and when he arrived, the then-12-year-old burst into tears at the sight of his father in distress.
