Are Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux gearing up for a big fat Greek wedding? According to a report published Monday, the Wanderlust stars have been checking out locations in Crete for a Mediterranean island wedding ceremony. But is it true -- or is the press just trying to marry Jen off once again?
TMZ is reporting that Aniston, 43, paid a visit to the Elounda Beach Hotel in Crete, which offers its wedding package for a very affordable $2,300. The hotel sources say that she specifically mentioned a July wedding, and was also visiting other locations on "the other side of the island."
But a rep for Aniston -- who has not announced an engagement to 40-year-old Theroux -- tells Us Weekly that the Greek wedding story is pure fantasy.
"How is it that one of the most photographed people in the world supposedly goes to Greece to check out a hotel she never heard of and is not spotted or photographed?" the rep points out, calling the report a "total fabrication."
Us also thought to phone the events manager at the Elounda Hotel, who denied that Aniston had paid them a visit -- although the manager added, "But she is very welcome here." (Of course she is.)
It wouldn't be the craziest thing for Aniston to have her wedding in Greece. Her father, actor John Aniston, was born on Crete, and Jennifer lived there for a year when she was a child. It's beautiful year-round and it has special meaning for Jen -- plus, a foreign island location would probably deter at least some of the paparazzi.
But in imagining the perfect Jennifer-Justin wedding, let's not lose sight of the bigger picture, which is this: Jennifer Aniston is not getting married! At least, she hasn't shared any wedding plans that we know of. But with she and Theroux celebrating one year together, everyone seems to be bracing for a big announcement, whether it's a baby on the way or a secret walk to the altar. (And it doesn't hurt the tabloid buzz that Jen's ex-husband Brad Pitt is finally getting remarried to her supposed rival, Angelina Jolie.)
If Jen and Justin are actually planning a wedding, we're sure it will be romantic and tasteful and beautiful... and kept totally secret until the last possible second. A baby, on the other hand? That would be harder to hide!
