Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have resisted the pressure to get married for more than six years -- but now that the pressure is coming from their own kids, it seems to be wearing them down! Pitt, 48, says in a new interview that marriage is definitely on the table for him and Jolie, 36; it's really a question of when.
"We'd actually like to, and it seems to mean more and more to our kids," Pitt tells the Hollywood Reporter.
And what of the actors' famous vow that they wouldn't get married until it's legal for all citizens, gay or straight?
"We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to do it till everyone can. But I don't think we'll be able to hold out," Pitt admits. "It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment."
When asked if he'd gone so far as to propose to Angelina, Pitt declines to answer.
"I'm not going to go any further," he tells the interviewer.
The Oscar nominee (for acting in and producing Moneyball) also discusses the possibility of adding more children to his existing brood of six.
"We haven't closed the book on it," he states. "There's a really nice balance in the house right now, but if we see the need and get that lightning bolt that says, 'We can help this person; we could do something here,' then absolutely."
Sounds like Pitt would be leaning towards adoption, then, although Jolie says she hasn't ruled out a biological child. "I could end up pregnant," the In the Land of Blood and Honey director told Marie Claire in December.
Jolie has also mentioned recently that the children have been pestering them about marriage. "They have asked, yeah, because... people get married in the movies," Jolie told Nightline in December. "Shrek and Fiona are married, you know?"
So if they end up walking down the aisle to Rufus Wainwright's "Hallelujah," we'll all know why!
