Sinead O'Connor's love life seems to be moving in fast-forward these days. Last week, the Irish singer announced that she was divorcing her husband of 18 days, drugs counselor Barry Herridge, whom she'd been dating for just three months when they tied the knot in Las Vegas. Now the couple has decided to give the marriage another shot -- a development O'Connor revealed in her usual way, by oversharing on Twitter.
"Guess who had a mad love making affair with her own husband last night?" Sinead twittered on Tuesday.
"Yay!!! we decided to be boyfriend and girlfriend again an stay married," O'Connor continued.
The mother of four added in another typo-ridden tweet that she and Herridge plan to "be sickenly happy an go counsellin an move in (together) in like a yr like regular people," all while staying married because "we all in love."
Glad it all worked out! (For today, anyway.)
The "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer, 45, met Herridge, 38, after undertaking a very public boyfriend hunt on Twitter last year. On Dec. 7, she announced their intent to marry the following day (which they did), but things had gone sour by the 29th -- which O'Connor chalks up to his disapproving family members and the pressure of her fame. Oh, and to her own ill-advised wedding-day hunt for marijuana.
"We ended up in a cab in some place that was quite dangerous," O'Connor told the U.K.'s Sun. "I wasn't scared -- but he's a drugs counselor. What was I thinking? Then I was handed a load of crack. Barry was very frightened -- that kind of messed everything up a bit, really."
But what's one dangerous drug deal in the grand scheme of a marriage? Here's hoping those crazy kids make it past one month (and maybe even surpass Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' 72-day mark).
O'Connor and Herridge's weird romance is the fourth marriage for the singer.
